We have often heard that change is a constant. What will change, or rather what changes first is often hard to predict. Is it the people, the environment, the finances, or the circumstances? Leaders assess situations to determine an appropriate course of action. Any changes in the situational factors require a review to ensure the next steps are appropriate to the changes. What worked yesterday may also work today. However, if any of the situational factors have changed, the leader's response should appropriately address those changes. Leaders require the flexibility of water that adapts its shape to its holding vessel, but also has the power to shape the course of its flow. How often do you review situational factors to ensure your response is appropriate and effective?
